ELVIS,

a german acronym standing for Elektronisches LehrVeranstaltungsInformationsSystem (electronic course information system), is a development of the Institute of Design and Assessment of Technology (Vienna University of Technology) by a group of teaching assistants and tutors. It was started in 2000 and consisted in little script fragments (e.g. database and command-line tool replaced MS Excel sheets) which made everyday life of a tutor a little bit easier.
